Rabbit and roast nutty pumpkin treats recipe

It’s the middle of the summer and we can already enjoy some produce, for example pumpkins. I love them – to me they are the sign of approaching fall, which is my favorite season.
My dogs also love pumpkins. They are tasty but also healthy, so I happily include them in my dogs’ diet.

Here is the rabbit and roast nutty pumpkin treats recipe. Rabbit is recommended for dogs with allergies, so if your pup has this problem, these treats might be a great option.

🎃 INGREDIENTS 🎃

🔸 1 part of cooked rabbit meat
🔸 1 part of roasted Hokkaido pumpkin
🔸 1 tsp of peanut butter (for roasting the pumpkin)
🔸 2 -3 tbsp of coconut oil
🔸 1 egg
🔸 coconut flour (or some other flour of your choice)

Here’s how I do it:
I slightly cook rabbit meat with some fresh herbs, in the same time I roast pumpkin in casserole dish (with a  bit of coconut oil and peanut butter). Hokkaido is great, as you don’t have to peel it – the skin becomes soft when you bake it – awesome, right?
I let it cool down and then blend both ingredients together, then I add an egg and coconut oil and stir well. Then I add coconut flour, in small portions as coconut flour absorbs water. If you add too much of it, you need to add more water (or the broth you have left after cooking rabbit meat). When the dough has hummus-like structure, I spread it over a silicon baking mold with tiny pyramid-shaped hollows. I bake it for about 20-30 minutes and then turn off the oven, slightly open its door and leave treats to dry.
And voila! Your treats are ready.

🔸 PRO TIP 🔸
Don’t pour out the broth you have left after cooking meat. Just heat it up, add some gelatin, and make healthy yummy jellies! (Check out my previous recipe).
