Duck and bilberry treats for dogs – new recipe

The bilberry season in Poland is in full swing, so I decided to add them to my dogs’ treats. Bilberries are super healthy, they are full of vitamin C and antioxidants that help fight free radicals. They may also help reduce risk of developing certain types of cancer as well as reduce inflammation. They are cousins of blueberries, but grow wild and aren’t sprayed with pesticides 🫐
So today my dogs enjoyed snuffling for duck and bilberry treats.
INGREDIENTS:
1 small jar (about 200 ml) of bilberries 🫐
1 duck breast, cooked 🍗
1/3 glass of water 🫗
1 free range egg 🥚
2 tbsp of virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil, melted 🥥
coconut flour (but you can use different one) 🥥
Blend duck breast, bilberries, and water together. Then add an egg and coconut oil, stir. Add flour, not too much, as coconut flour absorbs water and the dough becomes thick, If it is too thick, add some more water. If it is too thin, add a bit more flour. I bake treats on baking mat, so I need dough thin enough to spread it on the mat. The best texture is the one like hummus.
Bake it for about 20 min. My oven is a bit old, so can;t really tell you, what temperature. Just check on them every five minutes, when the edges become golden brown, your treats are ready. I leave them in the oven with the oven door ajar to let them dry.
Enjoy!
