Snuffle balls have been gaining popularity among people who understand their dogs’ needs and want to make sure their dogs live happy and enriched lives.
But are the snuffle balls safe? Snuffle balls are made of fleece circles (about 30, depending on the size) and in vast majority of balls available on the market cable ties are used to bind circles together. After cable ties are fastened, extra plastic tail is cut and often left sharp. The seal of a cable tie is big enough for dogs to find it and as chewing is natural dog behavior, many dogs will be tempted to chew on a cable tie and they won’t have any problem to bite it into pieces. I don’t have to explain what can happen if a dog tries to swallow sharp piece of plastic, do I?
I found a way to make my snuffle balls safer: I can proudly say that Busy Noses’ snuffle balls ARE NOT made using cable ties! I hand-sew them with fishing line, every fleece circle is sewn separately, tightly, and fishing line is hidden, so dogs can’t chew it. Busy Noses’ snuffle balls are solid and durable and what is the most important – safer for your dogs!
